Delphia 11 FlyLounge: diesel or electric, three cabins and energy analysis

Delphia 11 FlyLounge in navigation

The Delphia 11 FlyLounge is a motor cruiser of 10.77 meters above all and 3.85 meters of glare that proposes an unusual choice in the same project: diesel Yanmar from 57, 110, 150 or 250 HP, or Torqeedo Deep Blue 50i. All variants indicated by the manufacturer use in-line axle transmission. The flybridge adds a second rudder and a real outdoor area, while four internal layouts allow you to switch from one to three cabins.

This is a reading of configuration and plants, not a test at sea. Performance, autonomy and noise must be measured on the ordered specimen, with battery, motor, propeller, load and noted conditions. The value of the boat depends on the consistency between the navigation program and technical distinction: choose diesel or electric, solar panels, number of cabins and domestic appliances change energy, weights, maintenance and daily use.

Configuration before customization

Before choosing fabrics and furnishings you must fix mission, mooring, duration of stops and availability of charging. A coastal itinerary with frequent landings places different requirements from a network of canals or long shavings. The basic configuration must include a weight and energy balance. Afterwards, there is also an external kitchen, bicycle carriers, domestic and solar devices, verifying that each element has a documented power, protection and access.

Displacement Carena and correct expectations

The Delphia 11 range is set on a displacement hull, consistent with regular navigation and limited ranges. It does not mean that each version has the same behavior: power, propeller, mass and load distribution remain decisive. Testing must use reciprocal passes to stabilized regimes, measuring turns, speed, absorption or consumption and response of the rudder. They also control fast stop and manoeuvre at low speeds without immediately resorting to the aids.

Four Yanmar diesel engines

The options from 57, 110, 150 and 250 HP cover very different programs. The choice should not only be made on the desired speed: it is necessary to evaluate usual regimen, thermal load, maintenance space, availability of assistance and compatibility of the propeller. The contract must contain an acronym for the engine, power, transmission, relationship and instrumentation. Testing results in the achievement of the planned regime and the stability of temperatures and pressure, without oscillations or alarms.

Torqeedo Deep Blue 50i: system, not only engine

The electric variant uses the Torqeedo Deep Blue 50i. It must be purchased as a complete architecture: motor, battery, power electronics, cooling, charger, interface, protections and emergency logic. Nominal and usable capacity must be distinct. The test includes charging from dock, navigation at multiple levels of power and temperature control. The crew must be able to isolate the high voltage and recognize alarms and operating limits.

The 3.85-metre beam supports internal volumes and passages to be checked in the real setting.

Axis line common to the two philosophies

The manufacturer indicates the axis line for all versions. Alignment, joint, sealing, bushing and propeller require specific controls, regardless of engine type. Dryly, they measure games and inspect supports and appendices; after the launch they are looking for threads. In navigation, vibrations are recorded along the regimen range. The perceived simplicity of transmission becomes reliability only when installation and maintenance are correct.

Solar up to 690 Wp

Optional panels up to 690 Wp can support services and contribute to energy management, but should not be confused with a promise of unlimited autonomy. The yield changes with season, shade, temperature and orientation. The dossier must contain installed power, regulator, voltage, cable sections and protections. Testing compares expected and measured values. The daily budget must distinguish energy produced, domestic consumption and proportion destined for propulsion.

Batteries, dock and charging

The electrical configuration requires particular precision, but also the diesel depends on battery services and start-up. They identify chemical, usable capacity, separation of benches, chargers and inverters. The grip of the dock should be tested with land control and protections; voltage falls and temperature of the connections under load are measured. The monitor must be calibrated and readable. A percentage on the display does not replace the energy knowledge actually available.

Flybridge and second rudder

The flybridge is described as wide, ergonomic and equipped. From a plantistic point of view, it means duplicating display, commands and government transfer points. They try to take control, alarms, arrests and communication between the stations. The visibility is evaluated with people sitting and tent or hardtop in the position of use. Cablings and drains must be inspected; seats, table and cushions need to be considered for navigation.

Access to the upper deck

The foldable steps connect cockpit and flybridge. The mechanism must be operated several times, controlling blocks, games, anti-slip and possibility of use with wet hands. In folded position, it should not create dangerous edges or hinder an exit. Night lighting must make every step visible without disturbing the rudder. Also the flow and maintenance instructions must be present in the documentation delivered.

Cockpit protected and use in every season

The cockpit protection extends the season, but makes central sealing, ventilation and condensation. Closures and panels are under washing, checking thresholds and drains. With the closed environment we control air change, visibility and air conditioning behaviour. The exit routes must remain free with table and chairs in use. Any external kitchen requires a procedure that prevents heat accumulations or vapors when the protection is complete.

The displacement famine favours regularity and requires measures consistent with the use regimes.

Walkaround and mooring sequence

Side passages connect bow, cockpit and platform. The verification takes place with parabords and tops, looking for points without continuous appliqué or interference with doors and furnishings. They control drainage, lighting and height of the battalions. The mooring sequence must work with reduced crew and understand a clear communication with the upper helm. A generous passage loses value if it is occupied by unforeseen accessories.

Bathroom and bicycle platform

The optional bicycle carrier expands ground use but adds mass to the end and can interfere with accesses, ladder and peaks. The contract must indicate scope, deemed and travel position. It simulates loading and unloading without improvised supports. The platform should be controlled for anti-slip, drainage and possibility to recover a person from the water. Each accessory must leave any inspections accessible and do not cover lights or identifications.

Vinyl or cork cover

The yard offers vinyl or cork coatings instead of exotic wood. The choice should be evaluated for sun temperature, wet grip, joints, repairability and cleaning products allowed. They control gluing, edges and stagnations around the accessories. The manual must indicate chemical maintenance and compatibility. A durable declared material remains such only if laying, sealing and procedures are consistent with the marine environment.

Panoramic exhibition and thermal load

The windows bring a lot of light to the living room but increase solar gains and dispersions. Air conditioning must be tested with kitchen, people and light fixtures, measuring differences between prodier and poppiera area. Condensation, sealing and shielding are examined. Fan coils and fans must be accessible for cleaning and replacement. The stated comfort must be achieved without excessive noise or air flows concentrated directly on the seats.

Internal kitchen and optional outdoor kitchen

The integrated kitchen in the living room can be flanked by an outdoor cooking area. Equipment, power, ventilation, water and discharges are defined before the order. Refrigerators and stove top enter the electric budget; dishes and drawers require deemed. In testing, multiple utilities are used at the same time, checking protection and recovery of the autoclave. The outdoor kitchen must be isolated and resist spraying and irradiation.

Layout with a cabin and a bathroom

The version at a cabin gives space and brightness for a couple. The manufacturer associates a larger kitchen with a washing machine and dryer, a bathroom with shower and a walkaround bed. Each predisposition must be verified in the separate. The laundry requires water, drainage and ventilation; the compartment must allow extraction of the appliance without demolishing the furniture.

Layout with two cabins and a bathroom

This configuration balances privacy, storage and service surface. The guest cabin has a double bed and volume under the bed; the bathroom keeps the separate shower. On-site access is controlled, ventilation of the cabins and possibility to lift mattresses and paglioli. Additional employment changes water consumption, waste production and air conditioning load, elements that must enter the calculation of daily autonomy.

Layout with two cabins and two bathrooms

The solution for two couples includes two services with separate shower, three-burner gas cooker and dinette to U. Dishwasher or gas oven are options. The gas imposes control of cylinders, ventilated compartment, valves, pipes and detection; electrical appliances require a load balance. The two bathrooms are at the same time, observing flow, drains, refluxes and hot water capacity.

Layout with three cabins and two bathrooms

The densest version offers two prodier cabins separated by a removable central bulkhead, as well as the main cabin and two services. Modularity must be documented: fixing, insulation, lighting and steps cannot depend on improvised solutions. The storage of the removed bulkhead and the process of transformation occurs. With more people on board they become even more important ventilation, escape routes, circuit capacity and distribution of personal weights.

The tank requires ventilation control, inspections and exit routes.

Bathrooms, showers and waste circuit

Each separate shower is tested with the boat in different settings, looking for stagnations and checking pumps and filters. WC, valves and tanks must have consistent labels with the scheme. Indicators are controlled at multiple levels and vents must be inspected to avoid odours. The crew must know exhaust and insulation procedures. A well-furnished service does not compensate for hidden or impossible components to maintain during the cruise.

Water balance for different crews

Moving from a couple to multiple guests radically changes water consumption and waste. A daily profile includes showers, kitchen, cleaning and washing machine is calculated. Nominal and usable capacity must be separated. Autoclave, storage and boiler try with more open taps. Any additional systems require filters and spare parts. The level indicator must be reliable: without calibration, planning remains a hypothesis.

Navigation electronics and data network

Two rudders require a clear map of displays, sensors, power supply and backbone. They test GNSS, autopilot, echo sound, VHF and engine data, then simulate the loss of a screen or source. Alarms must appear in a comprehensible way on both locations. Updates and software configurations must be delivered with backup. Redundancy is only real when it does not depend on a single power point or network.

Machine room and hot controls

The diesel version must allow access to filters, levels, sea sockets, belts, separators and stops with hot engine. In the electric variant are added electronics of power, cooling and insulation of high voltage. Testing measures temperatures during use and after shutdown. You are looking for unprotected patterns, smells and wiring. Each replaceable component must be able to exit the compartment without removing permanent structures.

Showers, pumps and waste must be tested with more active utilities.

Incense, flooding and degraded mode

Alarms, fire extinguishers, bilge pumps and interceptions must coincide with the patterns. The pumps are manually and by sensor; the discharges are observed from the outside. On the electric version there is the isolation procedure, on the diesel one the arrest of fuel and ventilation. The crew must be able to secure the boat even with an off display or without automatism, using identified controls and emergency lighting.

Delivery test for diesel and electric

The common protocol includes start-up, maneuver, progressive schemes, virates, arrest and control after return. For diesel, turns, consumption and temperatures are recorded; for electric power, residual energy and system temperatures. In both cases load, wind, sea and depth are noted. The test must include domestic utilities and charging. A single speed value does not describe the efficiency or suitability of the planned route.

documentary verification sequence and technical judgment

CE certificate, freshmen, schemes, manuals, guarantees, software configurations and optional distinctions must describe the specimen. Electricity requires battery guarantee and storage procedure; for diesel intervals, spare parts and maintenance logs. The Delphia 11 FlyLounge offers a rare modularity between propulsion, flybridge and layout. This freedom imposes net choices: the boat works when energy, occupation and navigation program are designed together.
