The Nimbus W11 is an open weekender of 12.40 meters that builds its own identity on the use of the blanket: continuous lateral passage, large lounge, outdoor kitchen, sunbathing, folding balconies and optional bathroom platform behind the outboard. Undercover offers four beds and a bathroom with shower. The formula seems simple, but the configuration can become complex when adding motors, joysticks, electronics, refrigeration, electric roof, heating, solar energy and stabilization. For this reason the correct choice requires a verified distinction, not a list of accessories.
The measures that set the Nimbus W11
The length out everything is 12,40 meters, the maximum beam 3,46 and the fishing 0,90. The declared weight, with 300 hp motorization, is 5,600 kilograms; the maximum height reaches 3,75 meters. These values affect transport, berth, boat place and compatibility with bridges or harbour structures. The weight data must be confirmed on the complete unit: T-top, batteries, platform, fuel, water, people and equipment can change significantly mass and baricentre.

Carena to steps and bridge threshold
The W11 uses the same steps as the T11 and C11 versions. Nimbus describes it as balanced, with contained bridge threshold and high-speed features. The presence of the steps does not allow to deduct consumption or behaviour in every sea. Load distribution, engine height, propellers, trim and cleaning of the hull remain decisive. The acceptance test should record regime, speed, trim and consumption with tanks and people representing the intended use.

Two Mercury from 300 or 400 horses
The stated alternatives are two Mercury Verado V8 300 hp or two 400 V10. The upper configuration brings the total power from 600 to 800 horses and changes weight, cost, available torque and potential consumption. There is no choice only for speed data over forty knots. Compare cruise ranges, noise, load on the fuel system, availability of assistance and ease of removing the bays when the platform is in place.
Outboard verification
Before delivery, you can control mounting height, clamps, pipes, wires, full tilt and distance from the poppiera structure. The propellers must correspond to the distinct and allow to reach the system provided by the manufacturer with the agreed load. Emergency stop must be tested and access to filters, anods and washing points. If the hydraulic platform is installed, each position of the engines must be compatible with its movement and scale.

Hydraulic platform: useful but not invisible
The optional platform extends behind the outboard and can approach guests to the water when the boat is still. It is a mobile system exposed to salt, shock and biological growth. The verification sequence includes flow, local commands, navigation block, sensors, pipes, manual mode and interference with the propellers. It must be clear where to stop during the movement and how to recover a person if the plant is indisposable. The addition also modifies the real footprint of the boat seat.
Side balconies and operating width
The folding sides expand the surface to the anchor. When closed they must contribute to the continuity of the wall; when open they require free water, control of the hinges and a procedure for people and objects. Flow, locks, seals and status indication must be verifiable. Before the mooring it is necessary to know whether the unit can manoeuvre with the open balconies and who has the responsibility to control the closing, avoiding that the various width without being noticed.

The lounge changes function during the day
The heart of the blanket is a reconfigurable social area for navigation, lunch, sunbathing or access to the bathroom. Flexibility depends on tables, backs and cushions that need to be easy to move and safe when the sea is not flat. Each element should have its own boot and positive locking. A useful test is to switch from lunch to navigation with one person, verifying that routes and technical access remain free.
T-top fixed and roof in electric canvas
The display can include a T-top in fiberglass with perimeter closure and an electrical canvas cover. The structure brings shadow and protection, but also becomes support for radar, lights, antennas and panels. High weight and perforations are not details. Exhausts, wires and clamping pairs must be documented; the mobile roof must be tried off and with low voltage, clarifying the manual closing procedure and the limits of use with wind.

Control and visual position
The bridge has a wide windscreen and three front seats. The published configurations include two 12-inch Simrad displays, passing sonar, VHF and Halo20+ radar. The verification is not only about the ignition: they control visuals from sitting and standing, reflections, readability with sun, position of controls and possibility to reach arrests and trim without leaving the rudder. Alarms must also be audible with open roof and thrust engines.
Joystick, autopilot and integrated functions
A configuration with V10 can include joystick, autopilot, Skyhook, VesselView, Active Trim and man-to-sea device. These are different functions that share data and power. The verification sequence must indicate software version, sensors, calibration, batteries served and behavior in case of loss of a network. Joystick and position maintenance help manoeuvre, but do not reduce stopping distances or allow people to approach propellers. Each operator must know the manual mode.

Four beds under the open blanket
The W11 declares four beds distributed in two areas. The headset occupies the front; a second accommodation is made in the middle of the boat. The numerical data does not describe ventilation, access or storage. Before purchase it is best to try mattresses, useful height, obscuring, night lighting and possibility to exit without disturbing others. With four people on board, wet clothes and mandatory safety equipment must have distinct spaces from sleeping surfaces.
Bathroom, shower and black water tank
The bathroom includes toilet and shower; the black water tank is declared in 80 liters. The configuration can predict outboard discharge, but modes and legality depend on the navigation area. Valves, vents, level indicator, pump, access for emptying and sealing of fittings. An internal shower requires ventilation and controlled drainage. The presence of easy to clean surfaces does not replace access to siphons and filters.

One hundred and thirty-five liters of water: concrete budget
Fresh water capacity is 135 liters. For a weekender it is a usable reserve, but shower, sink, washing and four people can consume it quickly. The published configuration combines hot water from 40 liters to the package with diesel heater; this should be checked on the single unit. The verification sequence includes autoclave, expansion vessel, filter, drains and possibility to empty the plant in winter. The tank level must be readable without gross estimates.
Outdoor kitchen and refrigerated modules
The kitchen can use modules on both sides with cold water, gas top and 85 litre refrigerator; the published options include additional 65 or 75 litre refrigerators in alternative locations. The distinction must clarify incompatibility and capacity actually installed. For gas, ventilated cylinders, interception and sealing test are required; for refrigeration, compressor ventilation and high temperature performance are required. Doors and drawers must remain closed in acceleration.

19th century 50 liters of fuel
The fuel tank is declared in 850 liters. The number does not provide itself with autonomy: it requires consumption by motor, reserve, fuel not usable and test conditions. With two powerful outboards, a curve in liters per mile is more useful than just time value. They control vents, vents, valves, separator filters, level indication and inspection access. The supply must be possible without contaminating the steps or the platform.
Batteries, dock and solar panels
Among the published equipment are four AGM batteries 95 Ah services, power from dock and two 114 W solar panels. These figures must become a scheme with tensions, useful capacity, chargers, protections and utilities. Two panels do not automatically feed kitchen, refrigerators and services without budget. The isolation between start and service occurs, the behaviour of chargers with discharge batteries and the possibility to exclude a broken source without losing the essential tools.

Heating, disinfection and use off season
The published diesel package integrates heating, windshielding and hot water. On an open boat the yield depends on closures, air distribution and position of the vents. The test must include cold start, exhaust, noise, electrical absorption and protection of hot parts. Disappearance is a security function: it must be checked with closed tent and people on board, not only on a dry day at the yard.
Stabilization and control of the arrangement
Nimbus indicates availability of gyroscopic stabilization and active control systems; published configurations include Zipwake. You should not assume that each unit has all the systems. Interceptors and gyroscope face different problems and impose own absorption, weights and maintenance. The separate must report model, installation, access and emergency mode. During the test, the behaviour is compared with active and disactive functions, avoiding to confuse an automatic adjustment with the intrinsic stability of the boat.

The final configuration check sequence
Before signing the acceptance, you must freeze a separate set of engines, propellers, platform, balconies, roofs, batteries, refrigerators, electronics and tanks. The unit is weighed if the profile of use requires it, there are regimes and speeds, every exhaust and every alarm is tested, you take pictures of the access to the plants and collect serial numbers and manuals. The goal is not to get more accessories: it is to avoid incompatibility and know what function remains available when a network or actuator stops working.
The judgement for a day cruiser technician
The Nimbus W11 is convincing when it is treated as a configurable platform and not as a simple fast open. Walkaround blanket, lounge, four beds and two motor ranges build a broad weekender, while balconies and platform extend its use to anchor. The quality of the purchase depends on the discipline with which you choose energy, refrigeration, electronics and movements. A lighter, documented and proven configuration can be better than a complete boat of every option but without budget and clear access.
