The PIRELLI 42 is a maxi RIB walkaround that can be ordered with outboard or outboard and, within the same version, with very different powers. For this reason the evaluation cannot stop at 13 meters and the design of the tubular: tanks, feet, number of engines, batteries, generator, air conditioning and modules of the well define different operating boats. The current technical sheet accurately separates the two architectures and must become the basis of the contractual configuration.
Two lengths, a homologation measure
The outboard version measures 13,25 meters, the outboard version 13.15. The homologation length is 12.60 meters for both. The difference influence place boat, feed and quotes: the commercial measure does not replace the footprint with motors, brackets or dashboard. Before signing it is best to report in the version contract, maximum effective length and each appendix, avoiding documents of different years being mixed.

Baglio, tubular and handling
The total beam is 4.30 meters; with tubular deft the declared width drops to 3.75. The diameter of the tubular is 0.59 meters and the structure is divided into six compartments. These numbers do not authorize improvised road transport: weights, authorizations, support points and deflating procedure require a professional plan. Valves and compartments must be tested separately, checking pressure, sealing and repairs.

Carena Deep V double redan
The bottom is a Deep V with double redan and 21,2 degrees of deadrise. Redan can reduce wet surface in the correct dynamic regime, but trim and stability depend on weight distribution, propellers, outboard height, trim and sea. During the inspection we control edges, skates, mirrors and fittings with a clear light, looking for bumps, cavities or repairs. A clean hull is indispensable to compare the stated data.
Eight and a half tons with engines
The board indicates 8.50 tons with engines for both versions. The data is not equivalent to the displacement ready for departure: 950 liters of fuel, 200 of water, crew, anchor and equipment add mass. The actual weighing helps to evaluate travel lifts, invaded and performance. It also needs a weight map, because three outboards, a generator or additional batteries can move the center in different ways.

Outboard: from two 400 to three 500 hp
The recommended configuration is two 400 hp engines. The declared range includes two 500, two 600, three 300, three 400 and three 500, up to the total limit of 1,500 hp. Each choice changes mass on the mirror, platform area, number of batteries, fuel lines and maintenance costs. It is not enough to respect the maximum power: models, weight, length of the feet, propellers and mounting height must be approved for that specific unit.
Interfuoribordo: two diesel and 880 hp maximum
The internal solution uses two 400 hp diesel as a basic proposal, with 430 and 440 alternatives, for a total of 880 hp. Adds motor compartments, sea sockets, drains, ventilation and poppieri feet; on the other hand frees the platform. The test includes cold start, temperature, pressure, smoke, regimen, vibration, steering and trim. After the test, compartments are opened to search for anomalous textures and heat.

Declared speed: 49, 60 or 65 knots
The current materials show values that are to be read by configuration: the table shows 49 knots with the recommended outboard couple and 46 with the outboards, while the “reachable” limit for the most powerful version reaches 65. The descriptive text also mentions 60 knots. It's not interchangeable data. Engines, propellers, loads and conditions must accompany each number; an instrumental test of the single boat remains indispensable.
Consumption and autonomy without shortcuts
The table combines the reference configuration 120 liters per hour and 220 miles for the outboard, 75 liters per hour and 354 miles for the outburst, with cruise indicated to 28 knots. Before planning you ask for the test condition and remove unusable fuel and reserve. The consumption in liters per hour must also be converted into liters per mile to the really measured speed, so as to compare different settings consistently.

20th century 50 liters of fuel
The tank contains 950 liters. Tape, vent, valves, filters, lines and indicators must be identified on the boat, not only on the separate. With three engines it is particularly important to understand how the power supply is broken down and which components are shared. A controlled supply allows to verify the calibration of the level. Odore or humidity in compartments require an investigation before using the unit.
Fresh water and black water
The declared capacity is 200 liters for water and 40 for waste. Autoclave, boiler if installed, drains, vents and indicators must be tested together. The toilet must fill and download without reflux; clamps and valves must remain accessible. The small capacity of the black tank compared to the maximum number of people requires realistic planning. Exhaust modes must comply with the rules of the navigation area.

Eighteen people in category CE B
The current card indicates 18 people and category CE B. The number does not mean that the boat maintains the same performance or freedom of movement at full load. Plate, declaration and manual of the unit prevail; means of rescue and safe places must be adequate. With many guests the commander must retain visuals, access to controls and passages towards the bow and stern, distributing people and luggage without relying on the trim to correct a permanent unbalance.
Walkaround and passersby
The perimeter bridge connects prodiero sofa, sunbathing and poppiero living. The effectiveness occurs with table, pillows, parabords and tops already on board. Recessed tientibene, non-slip surfaces, steps and drainage must be tested wet. A wide passage on display can shrink when a door is open or a module is used. Every mobile element must have a positive stop for navigation.

Configurable well and electric table
The cockpit can receive electric folding table, sun extension and backrest. The configuration is to be described in separate settings, including actuators, shutters and manual access. The table is loaded and in all positions, observing cables and crushing points. Gavoni and sentine must remain accessible with mounted cushions; drainage should not be covered by the modules.
Hard top, windscreen and protection
The hard top can be combined with the crystal windscreen, wiper and side locks according to the set. Glass, plexiglass and structure react differently to expansion and loads; fixing and sealing should be controlled with water. Radar, antennas and lights added later require plates, sealing and electrical balance. The shadow is not equivalent to a closed cabin: wind and splashes continue to affect the bridge.

Open space cabin and two beds
The model declares two beds. The interiors can be configured as an open environment or with separate bathroom, washbasin, WC and shower. Compare the ordered plant with the built one, because wallpapers and modules change ventilation and access. Mattresses and panels are raised to control moisture, condensation, fixings and technical steps. Doors, drawers and doors must remain blocked during acceleration.
Bridge, GPS, radar and AIS
Packages can include map display, eco-scandaglio, VHF, second screen, radar and AIS. Trademark, model and software version must appear in the separate. We control power supply, network terminations, transducers, compass and interference, then compare speed, bow and depth with independent references. A large screen does not compensate for poorly calibrated sensors. Alarms must be audible with engines and music in operation.

Batteries, dock, inverter and generator
Staccabacterial, dock with charger and inverter are part of the documented architecture; generator and air conditioning depend on the configuration. Technology, capacity, date, cable sections, fuses, differential protections and voltage falls are recorded. The generator must be tested with progressive load, checking cooling and unloading. Any added user must be compatible with the energy budget, not only with the available space.
External comfort and hidden facilities
Refrigerator, kitchen sink, stove top, grill, icemaker and outdoor shower can concentrate many circuits in the cockpit furniture. They work together, looking for overheating, pressure drops and stagnations. Pipes and wires must have support, protection and inspection possibilities. The module should also be controlled from the back side: an elegant finish can hide bands, connectors or hard-to-reach boots.

Tubes, inflator and maintenance
The six compartments require consistent pressure with the manufacturer's temperature and directions. Valves, joints, glues, rubbings and dots close to hardware or UV rays are controlled. The electric inflator is only useful with adapters, gauge and correct procedure. Repairs and replacements must use compatible materials. Washing and protection should not create a slippery surface on the steps or alter markings and decorative tread.
Test protocol at sea
The test notes engines, propellers, levels, people, wind, wave and famine status. There are regimen, speed and consumption at multiple stages, trim response and virates in the two senses. With three outboards you can also try the manoeuvre in the allowed combinations; with infuoribordo you control feet and compartments after the return. No value obtained on one configuration should be transferred automatically to the other.
sequence of contractual checks
The contract must fix version, model year, engines, propellers, capacity, number of compartments, internal layout, bathroom, hard top, electronics, generator, air conditioning and external modules. For each option we ask for weight, absorption, guarantee and maintenance access. Testing, weighing, EC documents and manuals must be delivered before acceptance. This discipline avoids evaluating how identical two PIRELLI 42 with deeply different architectures.
The technical judgment
The PIRELLI 42 combines tubular, a double redan Deep V and high-end day boat volumes. The real value is the ability to choose between two or three outboards and an outboard couple without losing the walkaround layout. The same freedom is the main risk of design: power, weight and plants must be decided as a package. When the configuration is documented and tested, the RIB maxi offers a much more articulated technical platform than the simple fast inflatable.
