To navigate the marinas and coastal landings it is not enough to know where to go: you need to know where not to pass, when to stop and what option to use if the program changes. Priority control concerns improvised unavailability, work or limitations at the entrance.
A risk often underestimated
The situation to avoid is to arrive with minimal autonomy and to discover only the filling that is not possible to enter. Legal and operational conditions can change even if costs, foundations and GPS track look identical.
The Commander's answer
It is necessary to confirm availability, read port ordinances and calculate distance and consumption towards plan B. Add updated weather, VHF efficiency, reserve fuel and a briefing understandable even to those who do not conduct.
The early decision
Predict to also define a plan C when the coast offers few shelters or the weather is worsening. Always consult Coast Guard e Hydrographic Institute of the Navy and the agencies of the visited area. Repeat control just before dropping mooring reduces the risk that a last-minute novelty stays out of the plane.
