The BENETEAU Flyer 9 SUNdeck is an outboard day boat of 9,10 meters with a 2,99 bay, arranged around a Smart Walkaround passer on the left side, a folding side platform and a cabin with four beds. The project promises conviviality without sacrificing the possibility of staying overnight, but the technical value depends on the configuration chosen: engines, batteries, outdoor kitchen, T-top, refrigerator and equipment change weights, consumption and access. This analysis then reads the boat as a system and proposes concrete controls for equipment, plants and maintenance.
Data sheet and points to be checked
The length outside everything is 9,10 meters, the bay 2,99 and the light displacement declared 3.350 kilograms. The fishing ranges from 0.50 to 0,90 meters and the maximum height is 2.68. The two fuel tanks contain nominally 288 liters each, for 576 total; fresh water is 100 liters. The published certification indicates category B for six people and C for ten. This data does not define the ready weight for navigation alone: engines, liquids, anchors, crews, assemblies and optionals must be recorded in the real configuration.

Carena and load distribution
The hull must support a program ranging from daily exit to short overnight stay. The 3.350 kilograms figure is lightweight and should not be used as exercise weight. Two full tanks add a significant mass to which water, motors, batteries, people and equipment are added. An accurate configuration assigns position and mass to each option, avoiding concentrations to aft. The test shows the entrance time in the planata, side trim, response to the trim and visibility, always annotating load and sea status. Without these conditions, an isolated speed does not describe the boat.

Smart Walkaround on the left side
The asymmetrical passers on the left side a wide path between cockpit and bow. The solution frees space and reduces level changes, but security depends on tientibene, anti-slip and really usable protections. You travel the boat with kitchens, table and bags in place, verifying that no edge interrupts the step. At night they serve lighting without glare and continuous support points. The opposite side should not become an informal passage without protection. Each guest must know the planned route before departure.
Prua equipped as a rest area
The prodier beach and the standard sunbathing transform the bow into a habitable environment. Bearings and backs must have fixings, drains and dry storage. The winch, the chain gavone and the mooring hardware cannot be covered during a manoeuvre. Access to the chain, drain of the gavone, anchor block and possibility to intervene manually. People stretched to the bow move the center of gravity and do not have to remain there under uncompatible conditions. The convivial area only works well if it remains separated from the docking area.

Downside platform
The left wall can open by creating a terrace on the water and easy access to the bathroom. Hinges, actuators, sensors and mechanical blocks are structural elements to be inspected. The allowed scope must come from documents, not from a visual estimate. The closure is proved by checking alignment and seal, then the emergency procedure in the absence of power. In navigation the element must be blocked and signaled. Parabords and peaks should not interfere with movement. The ladder must be accessible from the water even by one person.

Modular well and circulation
The cockpit uses a L seat, a table and modules that allow you to switch from conversation to sunbathing. Modularity increases the use of space, but each transformation must have a safe navigation position. Table, legs, cushions and backs need stops; doors and gavones need to open without trapping hands or blocking exits. The circulation occurs with ten people only in the context foreseen by category C, without confusing the documentary limit with real comfort. Drainage, hooks and wet surfaces are more important than the number of seats.
Outdoor kitchen under the windscreen
The outdoor kitchen is integrated in the rear of the windscreen, protected but close to the pass area. The sink, working plan and equipment actually ordered must be included in the water and energy budget. If there is a cooking system, power, insulation, ventilation and shutdown procedures are controlled. Lockers and refrigerators must remain closed in acceleration. The discharges cannot pour water on electrical components. Before using the kitchen there is a condition of steady and ventilated boat, with flammable materials and kitchens at a distance.

T-top and driving zone protection
The optional T-top protects rudder and part of the cockpit, but adds height, wind surface and load points. Attacks must be controlled inside and outside, looking for movements or infiltration. Antennas, lights and wiring require safe passages and drippers. The maximum declared height of 2.68 meters must be confirmed in the installed configuration, especially for storage and bridges. The cloth should not limit the visual nor interfere with doors and platform. A possible solar panel requires verification of structure, shadows, regulator and protections, not only free space.
Timonery, ergonomics and visuals
At the console, seat, footrest, steering wheel, handcuffs, tools and visibility with people sitting in the bow and stern. In acceleration the pilot must maintain grip and control of the trim. Windshield and mountaineering must not create decisive blind areas; drops must be manageable. Displays can be read in the sun and at night without dazzling. Switches, emergency detachment and pump controls must be identified. The test includes slow maneuver, reverse, agree and stop, announcing any response differences between the two outboards.

Two-outboard architecture
The platform is designed for twin motorization. Power, brand and display must be verified on the certificate and contract, without automatically transferring data from a photographed specimen. Two engines offer control in maneuver and partial redundancy, but doubling various components: filters, propellers, impellers, circuits and maintenance. They control mounting height, clamps, tubes, wiring and freedom of wiring. Commands must be synchronized and consistent propellers with load and regimen. A single operating engine does not always guarantee planed or full governance.
Two tanks of 288 liters
The overall fuel capacity is 576 liters. The autonomy should be calculated on consumption measured in the real configuration, including a reserve and the volume not usable. The two tanks require knowledge of valves, anglers, vents and indicators logic. They control smell, bands, pipes, vents and separation from electric sources. An asymmetrical supply can alter the setup. The log should record hours, liters and conditions to build a reliable curve. A speed rate without consumption, load and sea is not useful for planning.
Cabin with four beds
Undercover the square can turn into a double bed and a cross-seat occupies the central area, for four declared places. The transformation requires rigid supports, well-paired cushions and storage of components when you return to the day configuration. Height, access, ventilation and exit routes occur. Under mattresses and cushions, condensation, infiltration and wiring are sought. Four people quickly consume 100 liters of water and produce moisture: porthole and ventilation must work, while bags and shoes cannot occupy steps or exit.

Bathroom with separate shower
The bathroom is equipped with separate toilet and shower. The compartment limits the water on the surfaces, but pumps, drains and ventilation remain decisive. Try filling the shower plate, verifying that the pump evacui without reflux. Valves and clamps must be reached; the toilet requires clear instructions for guests and possibility of insulation. The portholes should not lose and the surfaces must dry. The black water tank and its actual system should be identified on the specimen, without assuming unpublished capacity or mode.

Internal lock with sink and optional
The internal block includes sink and compartments; refrigerator and microwave are indicated as options. Their presence radically changes the electric budget of one night. We control voltage, inverter if necessary, protection and ventilation of the refrigerator. Microwave should not share improvised circuits. The sink requires pump, exhaust and inspectable valves. Drawers and doors must have positive closures. Before ordering each device it is useful to estimate hours of operation, capacity of the battery services and recharge available, always separating the start of the engines from the hotel consumption.

Electric system and batteries
The framework must distinguish start-up, high absorption services and utilities. Verricello, refrigerators, pumps, instruments, lighting and audio cannot be added without project. Voltages are measured under load, outboard charging current and falls on connections. Batteries, battery and fuses must be fixed, ventilated and accessible. The addition of lithium requires chargers and compatible protections, not a simple replacement. Cable, differential switch and insulation occur in the dock. Up-to-date diagrams and labels reduce incorrect timing of diagnosis and risk of maneuvers.
Fresh water and service management
The 100 liters of water are suitable for disciplined use, not for domestic consumption without control. You need to know really fishing volume, tank position, pump, filter and drains. An indicator must be compared with the filling. After periods of stop, reservoir and pipes require sanitization according to the instructions of the components. Shower, sinks and rinses can quickly exhaust the reserve. For overnight stays, we define priorities and a separate drink. The losses are not only a waste: they can reach cabling, furnishings and bilge.

Electronics and navigation accessories
Chartplotter, eco-scandaglio, VHF, AIS and autopilot must be chosen for the real program and integrated with protected feeds. The transducer must be checked dry and compared to the declared position. Software updates do not replace cards and procedures. For coastal exits are important communication, position, depth and legible alarms; for longer routes the redundancy needs grow. Audio system, decorative lights and USB refills remain secondary utilities. The console must be able to isolate a fault without turning off all essential services.
Security for categories B6 and C10
The B certification for six people and C for ten defines documentary limits that must be confirmed on the certificate of the single boat. Equipment, jackets, rafts when required and fire-fighting equipment should be dimensioned for people and planned navigation. Ten occupants change movement, thirst and reaction times: the weight position must be established by the commander. The side platform and sunbathing areas require clear rules before departure. A briefing includes engine racking, radio, vests, fire extinguisher, men's recovery at sea and use of the bathroom.
delivery and test checks at sea
Before delivery we compare the number of hulls, certificates, engines, propellers and optional list. Dry are observed famine, transducers, drains and fixations; on deck platform, T-top, winch, tientibene and doors. Undercover there is a bathroom, water, batteries, refrigerator and alarms. At sea loads, winds, waves, regime, speed, consumption and trim are recorded at different trims, testing virates, stopping and manoeuvre at only one motor. Each defect must be documented and closed with a new test. Delivery is not the time to accept unwritten promises.
Technical evaluation of Flyer 9 SUNdeck
The Flyer 9 SUNdeck combines a truly articulated bridge with four beds and weekend volumes. Smart Walkaround, side platform and outdoor kitchen are useful solutions, but require discipline on paths, blocks and plants. The 576 litres of fuel give operational potential to be calculated on the real motorization; the 100 litres of water instead impose conscious consumption. The model is interesting for those who want to alternate daily output and short cruises, provided that the layout remains balanced and every option is verified as part of the system.
