When a top comes out of the choker, the immediate replacement of the body is often a shortcut. The defect can depend on the wrong diameter, worn stocking, PXR selector in different position, impunced swivel base, undersized SUA mini jammer, moved fixings or deformed support. An effective diagnosis isolates the causes in order, keeps the discharge line during inspection and concludes with a progressive test. the following procedure treats PXR and SUA as complete systems, along with top, rivii, winch and blanket.
Secure the maneuver before touching the body
The shooting is transferred to a planned or eliminated point according to the boat procedure. The tail remains ruled and no one works in front of a tense line. It marks the position of the top and takes pictures of the path before disassembling. This prevents the defect from disappearing as soon as the component is released. Diagnosis does not use hands or tools to force a cam under load. Only with removed energy control movement, wear and fixation without creating uncontrolled release.
Identifying pattern and variant without relying on color
You read the code or compare documented footprint and configuration. PXR exists in sizes 0206 and 0810, with standard versions, T retrofit, SW swivel base and VP vertical pin limited to the smallest size. SUA is single, double or triple. The variant decides diameter, load, weight and fixing. A generic control over “a Spinlock choker” is not enough: the same screw, the same interasse or the same procedure do not apply automatically for all configurations.
Measure the top in the tract that really works
PXR0206 covers 2-6 mm; PXR0810 8-10 mm; SUA 6-10 mm. The top is measured in several points, including the polished or flattened area. Rotated threads, shifted stockings, contamination and variations compared to the free tract are observed. The nominal diameter in an old inventory does not replace the measurement. If the line is out of field or deformed, you correct this condition before declaring usured mechanism.

Compare the load with the assigned use
The declared load is not an invitation to try the limit. It is necessary to check if the component belongs to the maneuver. A regulation that exceeds the role of a compact cam can require a mini jammer or another architecture. SUA is described for small winchs and offers more capacity than a cleat cam, remaining more compact than a powerclutch. If the line has been moved from a different circuit, the cause of slip can be an inconsistent assignment and not a sudden failure.

Check the PXR cam and contact surface
PXR uses a rolling action cam and a hard anodized alloy base. At the unloading device the movement is free, without grains, fibers or irregular signs. It is observed if the top sits centered and if the wear is symmetric. A polished flank often indicates an inclined entry; diffused residues may result from the environment. Cleanliness follows the applicable indications and does not introduce products that alter the grip or collect new contamination.
Try the three positions of the PXR selector
The three-stage release control must take net conditions. It operates several times empty, verifying the audible locking and the resistance to accidental closeness provided by the project. A selector covered by a top, bumped by an object or left in a different position can explain a seemingly random behavior. the procedure records the initial position before changing it, then confirms that the crew can recognize the three conditions without improvised interpretations.

Verify that the release does not require an abnormal gesture
One of the declared functions of PXR is to facilitate the underload release in the intended field. The test does not however begin with high shot. First check the path of the hand, the height of the tail and the space to lift the line. If the operator has to pull sideways or fold the top against a guide, the problem can be geometric. A free mechanism but installed off axis produces a harsh feeling and can prevent the cam from working evenly.
Inspect standard and retrofit versions on support
PXR0206 standard uses two M4 flared and PXR0810 two M5. The T versions maintain interaxes of 27 and 38 mm intended to replace traditional cam cleat. They control heads, game, ovalization and traces of water. A reused hole can be compatible and at the same time damaged. The body is observed while applying a small controlled shot: any movement between base and blanket requires structural correction before evaluating the grip.

Move the swivel base in the entire useful arc
SW versions use three M5 flanked and have to move towards the operator without impurities. On a low line you go through the whole arch, looking for interference, game and points where the top flows. It is checked that the pipe, edge or other maneuver do not push the group out of axis. A base that only rotates when it is distracted adds resistance and makes release unpredictable. The problem is located between pin, base, fixing and external geometry.
Examine pulley and pin of VP variant
PXR0206/VP integrates an adjustable reference, can be mounted in the center, under the boma or at the base of the tree and is designed to be removed easily. There is freedom of the pulley, centering in the throat, movement of the pin and complete grafting of the restraint system. The body should not bascular to compensate for an incorrect entry. If there is a replacement pulley, the specified compatibility is confirmed and it is avoided to deduct it only from the apparent diameter.

Check SUA as a single route before the group
Each street of the mini jammer is released and tried separately. SUA accepts peaks from 6 to 10 mm and loads up to 400 kilograms. Leverage, grip, contact surfaces and path to winch are observed. A double or triple unit is not declared efficient because only one line works. The differences between routes help the diagnosis: an isolated defect oriented towards dirt or local wear; the same symptom on all suggests support, alignment or assignment.
Use weight and configuration to recognize wrong parts
The declared weights of SUA are 170 grams per single, 250 for double and 350 for triple. They do not need to directly diagnose the socket, but help identify the unit and recognize undocumented additions or assemblies. After disassembly, an obvious difference leads to control spacers, plates or replaced components. The verification always favors code and geometry; the weight is a cross-check, not a criterion to improvise compatibility between spare parts.

Check the four M6s of every mini jammer SUA
Single, double and triple require all four M6 cylindrical head, not supplied. It occurs that diameter and head correspond, that the clamp is uniform and that washers, dice or counterplate work on the support. In the triple, multiple routes can transfer actions to the same four points: a slow head or a yielding blanket influences the whole group. It does not compensate for the movement by tightening beyond measure; the capacity of the structure and the flat support is restored first.
Examine the blanket above and below the component
We look for cracks, fingerprints, crushing, alonies, expelled sealant and corrosion. Under deck you control counterplate, washers, dice, soul and accessibility. A local bending changes the angle of the top and can make a healthy mechanism look weak. the procedure then separates the grip from the support. If there are panels or plants nearby, they are removed or protected as necessary; a fixing is not dry only because the external surface is clean.

Follow the top to the winch without skipping the rivii
SUA is intended for use with small winchs, while PXR variants can serve different circuits. You can see entrance, exit, pulley, height on the drum and space of the tail. A blocked postponement or side deviation can increase the shot and make the grip unstable. The line is flowed empty through each element; the defect is attributed only after excluding the rest of the path. The winch should not mask friction or misalignment.
Compare multiple routes without swapping tops
On double and triple SUA each manoeuvre is labeled before being released. They compare diameter, fit state, lever hardness and signs on the body. Temporary exchange of two peaks may seem like a quick test, but it risks introducing an unforeseen load. the procedure keeps each line in its circuit and compares homogeneous observations. If you need a replacement, you first define compatibility, then repeat the entire control of geometry and socket.

Clean without changing the socket coefficient
The rinse removes salt and particles according to the product instructions. No random lubricants or protectives apply on cam, roller or surfaces that hold the top. The parts are dried and reassembled in the registered position. If cleaning solves the symptom, you still look for the cause of contamination and you program a consistent range. A device that returns free on the counter but fills again to the first use did not complete maintenance.
Perform a progressive test with the controlled tail
It starts with moderate manual traction, then it increases within the expected procedure, observing grip, body and support. The top is marked to recognize sliding. On PXR you try grafting and release; on SUA you transfer the shot to winch and opens the jammer while keeping control. Nobody stays in the call line. The test is interrupted by slip, noise, movement or heat. The maximum load is not sought: the actual operating condition is confirmed.
Recheck fixing and stocking after setup
After the test you download again. Fresh signs, raised wires, head movement and traces of moisture are sought. A component that retains but marks the stocking does not exceed the procedure. The lock is checked with the applicable procedure without deforming base or support. The result is recorded for model, variant, top, route and intervention. This technical photography makes the next control comparable and allows to recognize a deterioration before the line runs under load.
Close diagnosis with a verified cause
The card does not end with “systematic squirrel”. Indicates if the cause was diameter, assigned load, stocking, selector, roller, swivel base, pin, mini jammer, fixing, support or referral. PXR and SUA cover different fields and must be judged according to the installed variant. When the top remains centered, the graft is net, the release is controllable and the base does not move, the system returns operating with a repeatable explanation, not for simple attempted replacement.
