The Hallberg-Rassy 44 is a 13.68-metre central cockpit cruiser designed by Germán Frers. Dislocate 13,3 tons in standard configuration, use a lead keel of 5,3 tons and has 745 liters of water and 420 liters of oil. The engine is a Volvo Penta D2-75 with axle and hydraulic inverter. Such important numbers build autonomy and comfort, but impose a systematic management: tanks, batteries, pumps, rudder, appendices and technical accesses must be verified as parts of a single high-rise platform.
Hallberg-Rassy 44 measures and capabilities
The hull measures 13,68 meters, while the maximum length reaches 14,45. The float is 12.88 meters, the 4.20 bay and the 2,10 vacuum fishing. The tree reaches 21,6 meters above the water without Windex. This data must enter the choice of the boat, travel lift and routes with low seabeds or bridges. A reduced fishing version is available on request and should be identified in the documents of the single unit.

Dislocation and real load
The 13,3 tons refer to the standard vacuum boat. Full water and diesel add a significant mass, before considering crew, anchor, chain, tender, sails and spare parts. Alge and trim need an updated inventory. The optionals shown in the photographs are not necessarily included: generator, windings and various internal configurations can change weight and distribution.

Lead keel from 5,3 tons
The zavorra concentrates about 5,3 tons under the hull. Joints, seals, mats and incarceration marks should be examined at the premises. The standard fishing of 2,10 meters requires careful planning; the reduced variant must be evaluated on the specific documentation, not assuming that it has the same data of the standard version. The intruder must support the hull in the points provided without transferring improper loads.
Sailing floor from 109,6 square meters
The area declared with work bow is 109.6 square meters. The built-in bompress is designed for supporting sails, while the winding configuration may vary. The crew must know loads, limits and sequence of reductions. Drizzes, rocks, bozzelli and attacks are not only controlled for visible wear: alignment, corrosion and under load games require regular inspections.

Tree 21,6 meters above water
The measure excludes Windex and may not include other installed appendices. For a passage under deck, you need to measure the boat really armed and keep a wave margin and level variations. Sartiame, lande, crucifixes and tree foot form a structural chain. After a demanding navigation, deformations, drawings, missing caps and voltage differences are sought.
Central well and fixed windscreen
The protected central well distinguishes the cruise program. Windshield, hood and tientibene reduce the exposure, but do not eliminate the need for secure hooks and routes towards the bow. Downloads, gavones and closures must work with indoor water. Prior to the start, access to winchs, reductions and instruments with open and closed caps is tried, ensuring that the crew can operate without overloading loaded maneuvers.

Mechanical steering with cardan rods
The wheel controls a progressive rudder by means of cardanic and rod reinforcements. The system offers a direct mechanical connection, but depends on joints, supports, lubrication and absence of games. The verification includes full bandwidth movement, rudder response and connection inspection. The emergency government provided must be mounted really in port: discovering its access during an air is too late.
Double helm and control with disposition
The two-wheel configuration maintains an effective surface when the boat tilts. The boards must remain aligned and the bushings without abnormal play. A shock can affect a single shovel without immediately producing an obvious symptom to the wheel. When you get up, profiles, angles and surfaces are compared, and inside you are looking for drawings or deformations in the support points.

Integrated stern platform
The central section of the mirror opens as a platform for water and dinghy access. Hinges, stops, drains and mechanism must hold use and salty environment. Before leaving with the boat the closure must be physically verified. The platform is not a safe area if the engine is running or the sea lifts the stern; scale and recovery of a person require a shared procedure.

Volvo Penta D2-75 and axis transmission
The 4-cylinder 2.2 liters develops 55 kW, equivalent to 75 hp, with a maximum torque of 213 Nm at 1,800 rpm. It is mounted on four elastic supports and connected to hydraulic inverter and axis. The verification sequence includes supports, alignment, sealing, flange, bushing, three blade fixed propeller, drain and water circuit. New vibrations should not be compensated by increasing the regime.
Accessibility of the engine compartment
The compartment provides separate electric ventilation, large capacity sea water filter and space for a generator. Access must allow to close fuel and sea grip, clean the filter and reach the bilge pump even in difficult conditions. An automatic extinguisher protects the premises; date, pressure and stop system must be checked together with the smoke detection in the salon.

Four hundred and twenty liters of diesel in two tanks
The lower reservoir contains 230 liters and the left 190, with two vents covered. Each tank has level indication and the circuit includes a water separator and impurities before the engine filter. The autonomy is calculated on the measured consumption and on the actual usable quantity, subtracting a reserve. Taps, vents and filling tubes must be identified to avoid errors.
Management of fuel contamination
Two tanks increase flexibility but require a clear map of valves, output and return. Before a long transfer you will pick samples from the lowest points, check filters and bring compatible spare parts. In case of water or sediment it is not enough to replace the cartridge: it is necessary to identify origin, affected tank and path. Each competent member must be able to isolate the circuit without introducing air.

Eighteen hundred and forty-five litres of water in three tanks
The overall capacity includes a lower tank of 185 liters and two side tanks of 270 and 250. Valves connect the uppers to the lower one, and each unit has indicator. This architecture allows you to manage reserves, but a valve error can make indisputable part of the water. Filling, venting, inspection and treatment must be documented; the coal filter does not replace periodic sanification.
Autoclave, accumulation and collector
Water passes from the pump to an 8 litre expansion vessel, then to a collector that distributes hot and cold. A pump that frequently leaves may indicate loss, discharge membrane or faulty valve. The collector must allow to isolate a branch without losing the entire reserve. Before leaving, pressure, fittings and presence of water are checked in the hairs after activating each user.
Boiler 40 liters double heating
The 40-litre insulated boiler is heated by the engine circuit and the 230 volt network. The two systems require distinct controls: sleeves and coolant on one side, resistance, protections and ground on the other. Safety valve, mixing and drainage must be reached. After many hours the content can stay warm, so the intervention is not done without depressing and checking the temperature.

460 Ah service desk and separate start
The standard system uses a 95 Ah battery for start-up and four battery services for 460 Ah to 12 volts. The declared alternator is 115 A. Nominal capacity and truly usable capacity do not coincide: technology, temperature, age and discharge depth count. The budget must include refrigerators, lights, tools, pumps and autopilot, keeping separate the reserve needed to start the engine.
Panel, cabling and individual scheme
The picture with switches is close to the card and each boat receives an individual electric scheme. This documentation must be updated after any modification. The cables are protected in ducts where possible and collected away from the hull elsewhere. Fuses, sections, capicord and passages must correspond to loads. A new user does not connect to a free circuit without checking voltage drop and protection.
Water Cooled Compressor Refrigerator
The Isotherm SP system uses a Danfoss compressor and water cooling. The manufacturer indicates that, with batteries in good condition, refrigeration can continue for several days without charging; it is a declared condition, not a guarantee for each profile. Ambient temperature, openings and load change absorption. The socket, circuit and capacitor must remain clean and inspectable.

Ventilation and inhabitability
Six mouthpieces, eight opening doors and seven automatic fans serve lounge, cabins and bow bathroom. Ventilation reduces condensation, but each opening is also a sealing element. Gaskets, closures and drainage must be tested with water. In navigation the exposed portholes must be closed and the boards of the insured tambuccio. The engine compartment keeps a dedicated ventilation circuit.
Three bilge pumps
The equipment includes a manual pump, an electric and a high-capacity emergency electric submarine. Pumps do not compensate for a deteriorated sea grip. Ball valves, double clamps under the floating line and WC tubes require close control. Each alarm is tested with real water, checking flow, external discharge and ability to reach the lowest point.
Cabins, weights and configurations
The standard aft cabin has two separate bunks and can be ordered with a central double bed. The choice changes steps and storing, not only the appearance. Bathrooms, kitchens and carpentry must allow access to plants without destructive disassembly. The saloon and the gavones should not be filled until they remove access to valves, filters, painting or rudder.
check sequence before a long cruise
Weight, fishing and actual height are recorded; main government and emergency are tested. Tree, tailoring, appendices, keel and platform are inspected. Engines, filters, cooling, exhaust and axis seal work up to temperature. Each tank is identified and indicators compared with known quantities. Batteries and alternators must support a complete night simulation.
The Hallberg-Rassy 44 offers consistent capabilities and redundancies with height, but the CE A category does not limit the boat nor replaces the single unit manual. We have not carried out an independent test and do not attribute undocumented performance. The best configuration is the one in which crew, weights and plants remain legible, inspectable and repairable even far from the port.
