Configuring the Jeanneau Sea Loft 480 means transforming a slow cruise concept into a distinct verifiable technique. The official documentation describes standard diesel engines, an electric alternative with generator, large solar surfaces, two layouts and numerous domestic plants. Some documents, however, do not coincide on length, fishing, pod power and photovoltaic panels. This guide therefore separates standard equipment, options and declarations of autonomy, building a verification by contract, delivery and management without inventing test results.
Sea Loft 480 configuration: initial matrix
| Area | Documented configuration | Required control |
|---|---|---|
| Diesel standard | 2 Yanmar 4JH45CR from 45 hp | Serials, axis, propellers and manuals |
| Optional electric | 2 pods of 10 or 11 kW | Order code and schema 48 V |
| Energy | Battery 30 kWh, solar 4.2 or 4.8 kW | Usable capacity and installed power |
| Water | 580 L, boiler 60 L | Sealing test, pumps and indicators |
| Layout | 3 cabins/2 bathrooms or 4/4 | Contract plan of the specific unit |
| Certification | CE B10 / C18 / D18 | Plate, manual and authorized load |
First control: freezing the document version
The drive file must have a date and a configuration number. The simplified inventory updated in April 2026 shows 14.85 meters of length outside everything, 14,00 to float and 0.53 of fishing; the model page declares 46 feet and 3 inches and 0,98 meters, while the brochure indicates 14,10 and 0.53 meters. Before talking about optional it is necessary to solve these differences with CE certificate, declaration of conformity, owner's manual, general plan and signed offer. The contractual measure affects mooring, transport and lifting.
Diesel engines: what includes the standard
The official distinction lists two Yanmar 4JH45CR 45 hp, equivalent to 33 kW each, with axis line, fixed propellers and alternators from 90 Ah. The engines are under access from the cockpit; the compartment is described with 40 mm insulating foam, flame retardant film, integrated marbles, ventilation and extractor. The 200-litre pressed oil tank is placed under a bonnet. Serial, silent block, alignment, axis seals, discharges, ventilation, water-fuel separators and accessibility for cutting.

Electric option: two descriptions to be reconciled
The brochure mentions two 11 kW electric pods; the April 2026 inventory indicates two 10 kW Fischer Pandas and a 22 kW DC generator. The difference is not cosmetic. They change nominal power, supplier, management logic, spare parts and maybe certification. The capitulate must report model of the pods, continuous power and peak, voltage, nominal and usable capacity of the battery, type of cooling, insulation devices, fire protection and warranty conditions. Without this data the term “electrical” remains too generic.
Declared Autonomy: Protocol to verify it
Jeanneau declares up to 15 nautical miles in electric and 250 in hybrid at the speed of 7 knots. There are no results of an independent test performed here. The test must note load, water and fuel level, temperature, wind, wave, initial battery status and active utilities. There are reciprocal routes to limit the environmental effect, recording speed, absorbed power and charging status. In the hybrid test it is necessary to document the start of the generator, the point of intervention and the residual capacity for the maneuvers.
48 V battery and circuit break
Model communication combines a 30 kWh battery with the electrical configuration. The inventory specifies the 48 V generator, while the standard service network is 12 V. The inspection must physically identify the two electrical domains, converters, switches, protections and cables. Ventilation, access, temperature sensors, protection of containers and safety steps must be controlled. The manual must explain who can intervene and what operations are reserved for qualified technicians.

12 V and inverter service system
For the documented configuration are indicated three accumulators services from 95 Ah to 12 V, a 50 Ah starter battery, positive and negative switches, 2,000 W charger and inverter for 220 V users. Battery numbers and technology can depend on the version, so they must be found on board. The test includes resting voltage, falling under load, alternator charging, protection intervention, inverter operation and proper insulation of the dock socket. Each circuit must have readable label and updated schematic.
Photovoltaic: 4.2 or 4.8 kW
Brochure and official items cite 4.2 kW of panels; the inventory April 2026 lists twelve 400 W Marlex modules, equal to 4.8 kW nominal. The order must clarify which field is installed. At the test there are number and plates of the modules, wiring, roof passages, regulators, string tensions, instant production and absence of alarms. Shadow, temperature, orientation and loads alter the yield: the 30–50 percent statement of the covered needs should not be transformed into a guarantee without an agreed energy profile.

SEANAPPS monitoring and board data
The SEANAPPS connected technology can collect GPS position, battery status, engine level, distance, speed, depth, tanks, temperature and humidity, according to the installed configuration. The verification sequence must distinguish sensors from functions available only in theory. You need to test accounts, permissions, alarms, data update, connectivity loss and transfer procedure to the owner. Remote monitoring does not replace local indicators, autonomous alarms or physical inspections of the bilge.
Plancia Raymarine: network verification
The inventory indicates 12-inch Axiom, 9-inch Next4 for supervision, i70 for data, autopilot P70, VHF 73 and Fusion RA210 audio system. It is not correct to consider them universal without comparing the ordered distinction. In delivery you control ignition, sources, engine pages, depth, speed, position, VHF, DSC if configured, compass sensor and pilot response. The government test includes the two linked timones, hydraulic circuit, coupling bar and arrests, with verification of any threads.

Fresh water: two tanks and an important pump
The declared capacity is 580 liters, obtained with tanks of 380 and 200 liters. The pump is suitable for 36 liters per minute with expansion vessel; the 60 litre boiler can be heated by the engine or the 220 V circuit. The test fills the tanks separately, compares the indicators, pressurizes the network and inspects fittings, drains and technical compartment. Taps, hot and cold poppiera shower, boiler safety valve and ability to isolate a branch without stopping the whole plant.
Grey, black and bilge pumps
The general inventory contains 180 litres of capacity for black waters; in the detail specifications there are 50 litre tanks for the eventual skipper cabin and 80 litres for lateral baths. The actual total depends on the layout. Each tank must be associated with its own indicator, vent, gravity discharge and suction fitting in blanket. The showers use automatic electric pumps. The bilge have electric pumps controlled by the painting and manual double-action pumps with separate pipes: both must be tested with controlled water.
Gas, kitchen and leak detection
The island kitchen includes oven, two gas burners, plancha, sink and two refrigerators; the universal tank compartment and the interception valve are under the sink, with escape detector. Dishwasher for six covers and ice maker are optional. The control is not limited to the ignition: the expiration and routing of the pipes, ventilation of the compartment, held with appropriate instrument, position of the valve, operation of the detector and manual of the apparatuses. The official refrigerator capacity is indicated altogether in about 288 liters.

Air conditioning and hotel loads
The options include reversible air conditioning with two units for a total of 23,000 BTU, which can be used by batteries or docks according to the inventory. It is an important burden on the budget. Prior to the order, nominal and point-of-the-range water pumps, protections, condensation discharges and expected autonomy are required. During testing both power modes are tested, voltage and cable temperature are measured, and activation does not compromise propulsion, charging or other essential services.
Layout A and B: different plants, not only cabins
Version A has two front cabins, two rear and four bathrooms; the B gathers the bow in the ship cabin and holds two poppiere cabins with two bathrooms. The skippered cabin is optional and carries with it a bunk, WC, sink and relative reservoir. They then change pumps, drains, ventilation, accesses and maintenance. The contract plan must show position of the tanks and valves. The declared heights are about two meters in the main areas, while the poppieri baths are 1,99 meters.
Well, terraces and furniture components
The standard well includes table for eight people, eight chairs, two furniture sofas, eight gavones, central kitchen and two manual terraces. There are transparent electric side curtains; there are variations in fabric and microfurate. Electric hangers for dinghy, Marinemat floor and TV set are options. The check of delivery test blocks of sofas, table, chairs, doors, doors, terraces, curtains and ladder. Each component must remain safe with the moving boat and allow free passage routes.

Mooring, winch and bow thruster
The equipment described includes six aluminum bits, still deep gavones, integrated muse and Lofrans winch from 1,000 W to 12 V. It is also indicated a tunnel forward thruster with four batteries dedicated to 12 V and 50 Ah; the power reported in the document requires specific confirmation and is not assumed here. The test controls fixtures, local and remote control if present, protections, voltage drop, terminal clamping and allowed usage times. Chain, anchor and joints must match the distinct.
cE and safety check sequence before exit
The declared categories are B with maximum 10 persons, C with 18 and D with 18. Before leaving you compare tag and documents, you calculate the actual load and fix chairs, doors, terraces and tenders. We control levels, batteries, pumps, alarms, gas, motor ventilation, government, communications and mandatory equipment. The category does not eliminate the judgement of the commander on weather and course. The light mass of 10,900 kg does not automatically include every liquid, person and optional: for lifting and trim the weight of the boat is actually configured.

Minutes of delivery and evidence to be recorded
The final minutes must attach distinct, serial, pictures of pictures, software versions and schematics. Cold start-up, charging, alarms, temperature, axle seal, rudder, winch, propulsor, water utilities, discharges, gas, air conditioning and monitoring. There is also isolation, controlled discharge, solar charging and generator intervention. Documentary discrepancies on measurements, pods and photovoltaics must be closed in writing. Only so the Sea Loft 480 becomes a real and maintainable configuration, not a sum of promised options.
