The Impala 41, launched in 1982, is another important realization of the Shipyard 71 of Castiglione della Pescaia, directed by Niccolò Puccinelli. Designed by Sparkman & Stephens, this boat is the Italian twin of the Swan 411, with revisited lines and a fiberglass construction that guarantees high reliability and performance. The Impala 41 is a must of the construction site, with interiors designed for maximum comfort and a functional blanket for the crew. The combination of comfort and performance is the strength of this boat.
A long-term construction experience
Niccolò Puccinelli, Florentine and fifty-year-old, has always built boats according to his experience, and so he has always been right. After starting to build his first plywood boat at only twelve years old, Puccinelli moved his yard to Castiglione della Pescaia in 1960, where he produced two boats in marine plywood: the Punta Ala of 12 meters and the Punta Idalgo of 9.50 meters. In 1969, he began experimenting with fiberglass, anticipating the future of shipbuilding and launching the Impala 35 series, designed by Sparkman & Stephens. The choice to use fiberglass, already experimented with the Impala 35, has allowed to create a boat “without holes”, able to face the navigation of height with extreme reliability. The philosophy of the construction site is based on experience and tradition.
A sailing boat with luxury comfort
The Impala 41 was designed to offer interior and exterior comfort equal to that of a great motorsailer, but without sacrificing its sailing nature. The interior layout has been designed to take full advantage of every space, allowing comfortable crusades even with a large crew. The equally functional blanket is designed to facilitate maneuvers and ensure smooth navigation. The fiberglass construction reinforced with longheroni and the balsa sandwich blanket make it an extremely solid and reliable boat.
The construction site, directed by Puccinelli, has always followed a philosophy based on experience and tradition. Impala 41 is an example of this philosophy, with high quality materials and level equipment. The combination of comfort and performance is the strength of this boat. The success of the Impala 41 lies within a series of boats that have made famous the construction site of Puccinelli. After the Impala 35, Puccinelli made many other boats, all with great success. The experience accumulated through Atlantic crossings, participations in Fastnet and navigation around the world has helped to form a winning formula, but always based on personal experience. The Impala 41 is another step in this long and brilliant story.
The Classic Boat Archive, a constantly updated database, offers a wide overview of classic boats, Youngtimers and shipyard history from 1975 onwards. Impala 41 is an example of how tradition and innovation can live in a sailing boat, offering high comfort and performance. A must for sailing enthusiasts and a symbol of Niccolò Puccinelli's work.
