Swan 128: configurations, three-phase plants and delivery checks

Salone del Swan 128

Configure a means turning a project of 38.98 meters into a documented boat, maintainable and understandable for the crew. The Nautor Swan board declares useful data on tanks, batteries, generators, ground power, motor and sail plane. This guide organizes them in a delivery controls, keeping separate nominal capacities, estimated values and verifications to be carried out on the specimen.

First rule: identify the real drive

The model page is the starting point, not the final file. Brand and model of the motor, serials, fittings, materials and circuits must be obtained from the separate of the ship delivered. Each manual is associated with a component actually installed, avoiding generic pickers that confuse different versions.

The verification sequence uses a code for apparatus and connects drawing, manual, spare, test and photography. When a component changes during construction, the previous revision remains archived but is marked as exceeded.

Dimensions to be delivered to the commander

The hull measures 38.98 meters, the float 35.94, the maximum beam 8.65 and the standard fishing 4.70. It's four odds with different functions. The operating card must report them without arbitrary roundings and clarify what value to use for mooring, accessing, uplifting and planning.

Before choosing a port you check the entire route: padding, canal, evolving basin and boat seat. Nominal basis and real availability may differ; the decision is for up-to-date checks and on-board responsibilities.

Weight and load condition estimates

The light displacement indicated is 122,800 kilograms, the 136,200 load and the 39,500 ballast, all qualified as estimates. The 188 GT gross height is also estimated and does not represent the weight. The verification sequence must maintain these qualifications alongside the numbers.

A weight register with quantity, position and status of tanks is prepared for the specimen. Tender, spare parts, cambusa and equipment are not added without updating the picture, so comparisons remain related to known conditions.

Main motor: what to control

The published power is 405 kW, equivalent to 550 hp. Not being specified here manufacturer and model, the sequence of checks acquires them from the plate and the documents of the unit. Serial, transmission, cooling, exhaust, power supply and shutdown devices are recorded according to the real configuration.

The test follows the protocol of the yard and notes the conditions and readings provided. Speed, consumption or autonomy are not determined by the power alone: traceable measurements of the specimen and a known load state are required.

Fuel: capacity and usable quantity

The declared nominal capacity is 5,500 liters. The usable quantity should not be invented, because it depends on the actual layout and the conditions defined in the documents on board. The control identifies tanks, vents, vents, valves, sensors and drainage points.

Each command receives a label consistent with the scheme. The test includes reading levels and passing between planned configurations, without unauthorized manoeuvres. The supply register preserves quantities, dates and useful reliefs.

AdBlue separated from fuel

The declared capacity for the AdBlue is 550 liters. The circuit must be treated separately, with box, clearly recognizable indication and procedure. Delivery checks that there is no labelling ambiguity with fuel or water.

Manuals and specifications of the installed apparatus determine fluid quality and management. The general card is not enough to introduce intervals or consumption: only those provided for in the documentation of the individual unit are shown.

Steps remain free in planned configurations.

Fresh water: 2.650 liters nominal

The declared volume for fresh water is 2.650 liters. The check sequence follows the path from the load to the utilities, identifying tanks, pumps, filters, valves and indicators really present. The acceptable pressures and procedures remain those of the documentation delivered.

One user at a time and then a representative combination, observing the start and stop of the pumps. Loss or abnormal noises are recorded and closed with a new verification, not with a simple verbal note.

200 Liters Hot Water Accumulation

The declared capacity of hot water is 200 liters. Control is not limited to volume: it includes component identification, protections, valves, pipe path and maintenance access. Temperatures and adjustments are derived from specific manuals.

During the test they control dispensing and stability under the conditions provided, using appropriate cauteles. Each removed panel is repositioned and future accessibility remains part of acceptance.

Grey water: 600 liters

For grey water 600 liters are declared. The verification follows inputs, pumps, sensors and path provided for emptying, in compliance with the procedures applicable. Different utilities must be traceable to the updated scheme.

The simulation controls indications and alarms without taking undeclared thresholds. Any differences between display, label and design are resolved before delivery, because an ambiguous circuit becomes an operating problem.

The verification sequence checks each compartment and storing.

Black water: another 600 liters

Also the nominal capacity of black waters is 600 liters. Circuits and controls must be clearly distinguished from gray ones. The check sequence identifies valves, sensors, inspection points and allowed management modes, referring to the applicable rules and drive manuals.

The test seeks seal, correct directions and accessibility, without carrying out unauthorized operations. Gloves, materials and hygiene procedures are part of the preparation of the crew, not an editorial accessory.

Two 32 kW generators

The declared configuration includes two 32 kW diesel generators each. The presence of the couple allows to organize alternation and availability, but does not automatically guarantee complete redundancy: it depends on paintings, distribution and shared services of the unit.

They try separately starting, stabilization, load socket, alarms and stop. Then the transfer provided by the project occurs, annoting which loads remain fed in each trim and which require priority.

Three-phase distribution at 230/400 volts

The output of the generators is declared to 230/400 V three phases. The delivery framework must include an updated unifilare scheme, the identification of protections and the distribution of loads. Interventions on the paintings compete with qualified personnel according to the procedures applicable.

The crew learns to read the signs and to recognize an abnormal order, without improvised maneuvers. The acceptance test records sequence, conditions and result, making the control repeatable.

Connection from three-phase ground

The ground grip is declared at 230/400 V, 50 A, three-phase. Before the connection, the compatibility of the infrastructure, cables, connectors and protections occurs. Not every dock offers the same configuration, even when the apparent power seems sufficient.

The check sequence shows connection sequence, indication control, load transfer and detachment according to the installed system. Unforeseen cables and adjustments do not enter the onboard inventory.

Charges table before testing

The two generators and the ground socket do not authorize the indiscriminate ignition of each user. Before testing a table of real loads is built, distinguishing essential services, intermittent loads and deferred utilities. The values are taken from plates and patterns of the specimen.

The table helps to choose representative scenarios and understand the priority order. Any subsequent modification to an apparatus requires updating power, protection and documentation.

2.530 Ah service desk

The service desk is declared at 24 V and 2.530 Ah with an hour reference. The data is not equivalent to a certain autonomy: discharge profile, conditions and performance affect the result. The verification sequence avoids simplistic conversions and uses the instructions of the installed system.

Elements, protections, drives, charging and monitoring are identified. Operating thresholds are only reported if they are present in the unit documentation; the initial readings are recorded to create a reference.

230 Ah radio station

The radio desk is declared at 24 V, 230 Ah with an hour reference. Nominal separation should be verified on the scheme and on the actual components, controlling power supply, protections and indications. The test follows the expected protocol without simulating dangerous failures.

The board connects each communication apparatus to the relevant circuit and control procedures. A consistent label between picture, manual and register reduces errors when needed to intervene quickly.

Starting point from 75 Ah

The starting point is indicated at 24 V and 75 Ah with reference of twenty hours. The reference duration differs from that of the service desks and radio; for this reason the values are not directly comparable. Each capacity retains its declared condition next to it.

The control includes identification, protection, connections and readings during the planned procedure. Limits and acceptance criteria must come from the engine and electrical system manuals actually installed.

Energy balance and register

Once the loads are censused, there are scenarios of dock, generator and battery. For each one there are available services, priorities, charging and responsibility. The budget does not invent autonomy: it exposes hypotheses, measured values and margins adopted.

The register keeps hours of generators, events, alarms and interventions. The alternation is defined by the shipowner and manuals, so both units remain inserted in a traceable operating and maintenance program.

Plan of sail: quotas to be reconciled

The shares published are IG 48,00 meters, J 15,37, P 47,50 and E 15,80. The bow triangle measures 368,9 square meters; frog and bow according to the ORC reference are 443,8 and 401.5 square meters respectively. The verification sequence compares them with the ordered configuration.

Each sail receives identification, surface, placement and handling procedure. Geometric quotas are not transformed into presumed performance; the results belong to evidence recorded with known conditions.

Manage the provisional data of the spinnaker

The asymmetric spinnaker is indicated in 1,180 square meters with the TBC wording, then still to be confirmed. The data remains provisional until an approved revision. Connected orders and boots must use the final measurement of the actual configuration.

The verification sequence contains a column for the data status: preliminary, confirmed or exceeded. This simple control prevents a number published during the project to become a specific operational without verification.

Three well areas to try

The well is divided into three areas; the front one, near the tuga, is protected by sprayhood and bimini. A retractable rigid bimini is provided as an option. The chosen configuration must appear in the drawings and inventory, with clearly identified commands and positions.

The test simulates steps, opening, closing and storing according to the instructions. Tables, cushions and furniture parts receive a safe seat; no equipment must block technical access or drainage.

Semi-adjusted exhibition and accessibility

The carved tuga encloses a semi-rised saloon. Light, protection and function are declared goals of Lucio Micheletti's work. In delivery, visuals, openings, curtains, panels and steps are controlled in the actual built configuration.

Access to a technical component must remain possible even with furnishings and objects on board. If maintenance requires removing a panel, tools and sequence are documented and tested without damaging finishes.

Interior and four atmospheres

The internal project was born from the collaboration between Frers, the internal department of the yard and Misa Poggi. The Timeless Classic, Traditional Navy, Wine Cowes and Spirit Finland proposals coordinate different wood, leather, fabrics and colours. But I am not a universal distinction for all units.

Delivery uses approved samples and configuration codes. Natural oak, teak, Canaletto walnut, light European oak and walnut floors appear in the respective atmospheres; the actual presence must be checked in vain.

Shipowner's apartment and crew area

The flexible layout provides large shipbuilding districts at the bow and a generous aft crew area. The verification sequence does not judge the habitability with generic formulas: it controls doors, drawers, storages, passages, lighting and accesses according to the approved table.

The tests are carried out with mattresses, furnishings and equipment in their location. Mobile elements must have restraint systems and each difformity is connected to the relevant design or sample.

Spare parts and tools

Every device delivered must have the spare parts and tools provided by the separate, identified by code and position. No unconfirmed equipment is added to create a false completeness. The inventory distinguishes consumables, critical spare parts and dedicated tool.

Pictures and maps of the storages help crew shifts. When an article is used, the register reports residual and reintegrated quantities, maintaining consistent weight and availability.

Integrated testing of plants

After single tests, an integrated test is carried out with agreed scenarios: ground power, operation on each generator, load management, tank levels and main utilities. Each passage has initial conditions, action, expected result and relief.

An anomaly is not erased after surgery. It remains open until the counterprove, which documents correction and result. This method distinguishes technical delivery from a simple commercial demonstration.

Final documents and training

The final file brings together updated drawings, manuals, serials, applicable certificates, inventory, test reports and assistance contacts. Documents must be searchable by apparatus and available according to the organization chosen by the shipowner.

Training connects real theory and commands. Each manager repeats the assigned sequences and knows where to find schema and procedure. Open questions are recorded with a verifiable answer, avoiding knowledge entrusted to one person.

swan 128 final verification sequence

The closure requires correspondence between units, separate patterns and manuals; separate tests of the generators; three-phase connection control; identification of the three 24 V benches; verification of the six volumes of liquids; confirmation of the sail configuration; accessibility and complete inventory.

Only after the non-compliance test can the file be considered closed. The Swan 128 has an articulated technical base; the operating result depends on the discipline with which nominal values, estimates and real components are reconciled and transferred to the crew.
